SUBSTANCE ABUSE THERAPIST

REPORTING/COORDINATING RELATIONSHIP: Director of Substance Abuse Services

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

(1) Intake, screening, referrals, and crisis intervention services, responding within one hour of the request when assigned to that service.
(2) Individual, family and group therapy for substance abuse outpatient clients with variety of presenting problems. This will include substance abuse Intensive Outpatient services for both adolescents and adults.
(3) Participate in staff conferences.
(4) Prepare treatment plans, write goals and objectives.
(5) Work as part of a multi-disciplined team in Clinic with emphasis on brief, goal oriented therapy.
(6) Consultation and education in the community and with community agencies which may include law enforcement, industry, Community Based Services, and others on both program and case basis.
(7) Develop and implement a marketing strategy to improve community relations and increase referrals from physicians, businesses, and industries.
(8) Clinician may be required to work an altered schedule and provide clinical services one to two evenings per week.
(9) Travel to other area clinics will be expected based on the needs of the Center.
(10) Administer Urine Drug Screens when required.
(11) Other duties as assigned/required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of Master’s degree in a human service related field. Must be licensed to provide mental health services in the state of Kentucky. Must complete 20 hours of substance abuse education annually to be credentialed as a Qualified Substance Abuse Professional. At least 1 years experience in providing substance abuse services. Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and present proof of automobile insurance. Must pass a legally required Criminal Record Check and Sexual Offender Registry check, and present proof of a recent (less than 1-year-old) TB skin test.
