SUBSTANCE ABUSE TECHNICIAN, Trilogy Center

REPORTING/COORDINATING RELATIONSHIP: Recovery Program Coordinator

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

(1) Provide recreational and supportive services for substance abusing clients living in the Trilogy Center for Women.
(2) Encourage and facilitate client involvement in 12-Step support group sessions and assess clients’ progress on an individual basis as necessary.
(3) Perform other supportive duties as assigned by the Recovery Program Coordinator or designee.
(4) Perform client record maintenance.
(5) Conduct psychoeducational classes including Recovery Dynamics course; utilize videos and other training materials as required.
(6) Explain and enforce program policies.
(7) Assist in arranging necessary medical, dental, and other appointments for program participants as needed.
(8) Must be adaptable to a weekend and/or evening schedule, depending on client and program needs.
(9) Expected to have 80% time in direct client contact activities.
(10) Maintain communication with Probation and Parole office when a resident is discharged.
(11) Other duties as assigned/required.

This position is directly responsible to the Recovery Program Coordinator. Employee will be expected to work cooperatively and in support of other Trilogy Center staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum one year experience in substance abuse field including working knowledge of the 12-Step recovery model. Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and present proof of automobile insurance. Must pass a Criminal Record Check and Sexual Offender Registry check. Must present proof of a recent (less than 1-year-old) TB skin test.
