REPORTING/COORDINATING RELATIONSHIP: Program Manager, Residential Services

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Residential Support Specialists

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

(1) Assist program manager in supervising residential staff.
(2) Meet weekly with the Residential Program Manager
a. Communicate Staffed home Needs
b. Communicate Client needs
c. Review schedules for RSS
(3) Assist Residential Program Manager in hiring of Residential Support Specialist
a. Communicate with Program Manager when the Residential Home needs additional staff members
b. review applications as needed
c. assist in scheduling and completing interviews
(4) Train each Residential Support Specialist on individual needs, DDID regulations.
(5) Will complete and distribute weekly schedules for Residential Support Specialist
(6) Cover scheduled residential hours when RSS are unable to work a scheduled shift.
(7) Participate in the rotating on call schedule; as needed
(8) Complete all monthly DDID required documentations.
a. All documentation are completed by the required date and turned into the Program Manager by the required date.
b. Clients home charts are in compliance
(8) Provision of physical assistance;
(9) Residential training to facilitate the acquisition of communication skills, sensory motor skills, daily living and self-help skills;
(10) Assistance with daily living, such as:
(a) Ambulation;
(b) Dressing;
(c) Grooming;
(d) Feeding;
(e) Toileting;
(f) Bathing;
(g) Meal planning and preparation;
(h) Laundry;
(i) Budgeting and financial assistance;
(j) Home care and cleaning.
(11) Emotional support and advice, and assistance to help the individual work through problems;
(12) Provision of, or arrangement for, transportation to services, activities, medical appointments as needed.
(13) Cooperation with monitoring (i.e., periodic announced and unannounced visits to the home by various monitoring entities).
(14) Other duties as required/assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have a high school diploma or GED and be at least 18 years of age, or be at least 21 years of age and have effective communication skills. Must have valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation (car that seats 4 comfortably). Must have physical ability to position, turn, and transfer person in wheelchair. Must pass required training, provide proof of a recent (less than 1-year-old) TB skin test, and pass a legally required Criminal Record Check and Sexual Offender Registry check.
