RESIDENTIAL ASSOCIATE, GENESIS

REPORTING/COORDINATING RELATIONSHIP: Program Manager

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Substance Abuse Technicians in partnership with Office Manager

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide recreational and supportive interventions for substance abusing clients at Genesis.
• Encourage and facilitate client involvement in 12-Step support group sessions and assess clients’ progress on an individual basis as necessary.
• Perform other supportive duties as assigned by the Office Manager, Program Manager or designee.
• Perform client record maintenance.
• Client identification and outreach.
• Conduct psychoeducational classes.
• Provide daily supervision and training for other technical support staff (Substance Abuse Technicians).
• Facilitate Community and all duties related to it.
• Assist with Drug screens as necessary.
• Assist with Admissions as necessary.
• Serve as member of Admission Committee.
• Explain and enforce program policies with both clients and staff.
• Adapt to a weekend and/or evening schedule, depending on client and program needs.
• Utilize 50% of work time in direct client contact activities.
• May be required to work an alternative work schedule including holidays and weekends.
• Provide ongoing contact with community agencies necessary to develop additional resources and coordinate services, including employment.
• Monitoring service delivery.
• Client advocacy.
• Serve as back up to case manager in both the male and female facilities.
• Facilitate KTOS to each client upon admission.
• Assist Program Manager with volunteer services.
• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) credential or willingness to work toward the CADC credential. Prefer 2 years experience in chemical dependency field. Must attend both the Level I Case Manager and the Substance Abuse Case Management training within 6 months of employment.

Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, proof of automobile insurance, and must be willing to transport clients on an as-needed basis. Must pass a Criminal Record Check and provide proof of a recent (less that 1-year-old) TB skin test.
