REPORTING/COORDINATING RELATIONSHIP: Coordinator of Nursing Services

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: N/A

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will function as an Administrative Assistant for the psychiatric/nursing department. This position reports directly to the Lead Nurse and will be located at the North Drive clinic, serving all four area clinics and other Pennyroyal Center entities.

(1) Secure patient information as needed and maintain confidentiality.
(2) Act as liaison between patients, insurance companies, outside doctor offices, schools, labs, etc. and medical staff related to patients needs and requests.
(3) Contact patients with recommendations for follow-ups, failure-to-appear clinics and/or other recommendations from medical staff.
(4) Assist with the completion and disposition of forms, i.e. insurance, pre-authorizations, school medication administration, etc.
(5) Contact patients, per medical staff instruction, concerning inappropriate requests and educate the patients on how the situation may best be handled.
(6) Have ongoing communication with medical staff throughout the day, in the area clinics, in order to expedite the needs of the psychiatric department.
(7) Access ADiO Pharmacies database via the internet to view the medication logs.
(8) Serve as the liaison to ADiO regarding client issues.
(9) Other duties as required/assigned by the Coordinator of Nursing Services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

(1) Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent. At least 2 years experience in a healthcare setting.
(2) Date processing literacy and proficiency in data entry (Electronic Medical Record).
(3) Proficiency in office applications of computers, word processing experience required.
(4) Knowledge and/or experience with patients who have a psychiatric illness desired.
(5) Willingness to accept direction in relation to everyday task assignments.
(6) Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
(7) Must convey a positive and professional presence in person and by phone.
(8) Must present proof of a TB skin test performed within the last year.
