MENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATE- DRUG COURT

REPORTING/COORDINATING RELATIONSHIP: Director of Substance Abuse Services

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

(1) Intake, screening, referrals, and crisis intervention services, responding within one hour of the request when assigned to that service.
(2) Individual, family and group therapy for substance abuse outpatient clients with variety of presenting problems.
(3) Provide substance use assessment and update ASAM
(4) Prepare treatment plans, write goals and objectives.
(5) Work as part of a multi-disciplined team in facility with emphasis on brief, goal oriented
therapy.
(6) Work as part of a multi-disciplined team within the drug court program.
(7) Consultation and education in the community and with community agencies which may include law enforcement, industry, Community Based Services, and others on both program and case basis.
(8) Clinician may be required to work an altered schedule and provide clinical services one to two evenings per week.
(9) Administer Urine Drug Screens when required.
(10) Other duties as assigned/required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of Bachelor’s degree, enrolled in human service related Master’s program (Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work) and currently in internship/practicum phase. Individual must be licensed to provide mental health services in the state of Kentucky within 12 months of hire date. Must complete 20 hours of substance abuse education annually to be credentialed as a Qualified Substance Abuse Professional. Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and present proof of automobile insurance. Must pass a legally required Criminal Record Check and Sexual Offender Registry check, and present proof of a recent (less than 1-year-old) TB skin test.
