Pennyroyal Center's Therapeutic Foster Care Program is designed to provide care for children who have complex emotional needs requiring special parenting skills. A total of 36 hours of training is provided to foster families to assist them in parenting children with such needs.
Children placed in Therapeutic Foster Care can include either boys or girls, of any race, between the ages of 5 and 18. They may have had relationship problems in the community, in their families or in school. Many of the children are victims of neglect, physical, emotional, or sexual abuse. They are in need of quality foster care in order to prevent placement in a residential or psychiatric hospital.
